Green Screen Shoot

Phil took great pride showing us how an impossibly tight shoot (aren't they all?) was made much easier thanks to his little Matrox box. Full details on the blog.

Video Focus: Final Cut Pro Vol 2

Anthem Publishing in Bath had sent us some copies of their latest FCP offering. Initial reactions were very positive and we have the promise of 5 mini reports next meeting to discuss its merits. So far, it has received a definite thumbs up.

Crumplepop

We have a clear Crumplepop Competition winner in Nigel Buck, Bristol editor extrordinaire. His winning idea? "Splat Screen!" In Nigel's words: "A positional "splat" of ink, jam, oil, custard etc, to be used as a text area or blank to splat over characters on screen.

8mm & 16mm film transfer

Both Elliot and Nick and myself have had various experiences of Alive Studios. We decided to leave it til next month when we'll tke a look at the footage too. Anybody know what a Phoenix machine is? And is it in Nottingham or Torquay?
