weFCPug was started by two industry professionals both of whom had been active with Final Cut Pro since its launch. Phil Ashby was working for the BBC at the time and Richard Atherton was a freelance editor who, previously, had been working on AVID systems since 1993.

We felt that there was the call for a local/regional user group after attending some meetings in London. And there was.

To date we've had visits from major equipment manufacturers such as Apple, Sony, Panasonic, Matrox, Aja and many more... and many more to follow, we hope.

Our "Plug In" special in 2008 saw us give away over $5000 of industry leading plug-ins in one evening and thanks to support from Noise Industries we give away a different plug-in every month. Another Plug-In special is planed for later this year. Plug In writers such as Martin Baker of Digital Heaven and Peter Wiggins of Idustrial Revolution have also given very enlightening talks on creating a Plug In (as well as regularly giving away free samples!)

We have a blog and our own Facebook page with new members joinging every month and pretty soon we hope to have enough featured member's work to warrant its own page.

And this new site launched on Thursday 10th June 2010 will grow and grow and, as such, we welcome any contributions from member's especially if we get to see their work.

The next meeting is on the 13th of September and somewhere in the wilds of Blagdon at Coombe Lodge. It'll be a sort-of late summer barbeque/film showing. For further info please e-mail Phil or Richard.

weFCPug member Nick wilcox-Brown filmed, edited and graded this using Canon's new FX305 camera.

..saw an extraordinary meeting with Adam Knight of AV3 Software flooring us all with Get Phonetic Software. There was also Simon Walker with a live shoot 'n' edit on his iPhone 4 and we launched the weFCPug Crumplepop Summer Competition. Oh, and Phil had the final word on vuvuzelas.

weFCPug member Richard Atherton filmed, edited and graded this using Sony's EX3 camera whilst weFCPug member Phil Ashby did all the sound post-production.
